On the morning of December 15, a ceremony was held to invite Prof. Dragos Axinte of the University of Nottingham as the guest professor of NPU. At the ceremony, deputy director Zhang Xiaochuan of Division of Science and Technology Management introduced Prof. Axinte’s curriculum vitae and academic achievements. Liu Geng, the secretary of the Party committee of School of Mechanical Engineering, on behalf of the university, presented the appointment letter to Prof. Axinte, and Zhang Yingfeng, vice dean of School of Mechanical Engineering put on the school badge for him. They congratulated Prof. Axinte on his appointment as NPU guest professor, and expected that the two sides could further enhance their cooperation and exchange. Prof. Axinte in turn said that he was both happy and honored to be appointed as NPU guest professor, and that he would like to contribute together with the teachers and students of School of Mechanical Engineering to the international exchange and scientific cooperation in manufacturing field of NPU.
Introduction of Dragos Axinte: Dragos Axinte, CIRP Fellow, IMechE Fellow, is a professor of the University of Nottingham, having more than 20 years of work and research experiences in manufacturing and engineering. He holds over 40 research projects in manufacturing, and shares a cooperation extensively with many world-famous companies like Rolls-Royce Aerospace, Rolls-Royce Marine, BAE Systems, Siemens, National Instruments, Sandvik-Coromant, among others. Prof. Axinte has published over 90 academic articles in the leading journals of his field. Prof. Axinte has established good research cooperation with Prof. Zhang Dinghua’s research group of NPU. They have set up the biweekly academic symposium mechanism via the net, effectively propelling the acceleration of the research cooperation between the two sides. Meanwhile, promoted by Prof. Axinte, NPU and the University of Nottingham have signed the agreement on the graduate students’ cooperation and exchange between the two sides, thus, providing benefit for NPU graduate students’ further study at Nottingham University. |
